In July 2004, Félix Solís, S.A. bought a winery in DO La Mancha, a winegrowing region whose growth rate of the last few years is one of the highest in the country. With this in mind, the company purchased the “Nieto” winery in the town of La Puebla de Almoradiel, Toledo. The Nieto winery has been making wine for Félix Solís, S.A. since 1994, the year in which it leased its facilities and initiated a business relationship which resulted in the purchase of this winery, the former property of Mr Nieto. Its origins date back to 1966 when it was built, but it was not until 1986 that the three children of the founder gave it the boost it needed to become a successful business.
Today this winery, where the grandson of its founders continues to hold a position of responsibility, commercialises DO La Mancha wines, Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla and table wines, and is currently undergoing extensive renovation.The renovation project with its investment of over twelve million euros will serve to enlarge the facilities and renew all the winemaking machinery and automatic fermentation tanks as well as the equipment used for bottling.
Once the work has been finished, the winery will boast a production capacity of forty million litres a year with 3,000 barrels housed in facilities measuring approximately 50,000 square metres.
